Challenges/ aims and final conclusion Challenges I have faced in my experience and my aims. When I was in the experience, I had difficulty in choosing the appropriate materials for the course. But over time I got over it. During this time, I exchanged ideas with my groupmates and teachers. I got ideas from them. Final conclusion First of all, I have to say that I loved the school where I was in experience, my students and my mentor teacher. At the beginning it was very difficult to adapt but with the help of my students and teachers I overcame all my fears. I learned how to design better lesson plan and ho to work with students. I could say I succeeded and feel happy.  Naila
Attitudes towards students and practicum. Attitude toward students Personally, I'm a shy person. Despite having a few years of experience in teaching, I always suffered from this characteristic weakness and I always tried to hide it. From what I have observed and my own experience, I can say that there should be basic rules in the classroom and both teachers and students should follow this rule. Otherwise, there will be no mutual education and respect. Before I started my experience at school, I had a fear inside me. I wonder if the kids will love me, will I be able to do it? As long as I was in the experience, I tried to approach children with love. Fortunately, the children also liked me and they were eager to participate actively in my lessons. I was able to see each student's weaknesses, strengths, interest and so on. And I tried to design my lessons accordingly, taking these features of them into consideration. Attitude toward practicum Teaching is a job ...

Me as a teacher   Teaching is a life-long journey that never ends and is constantly renewed. It is a job that requires hard work and patience as you move on. I would say, if a teacher loves his/her job very much and does it with love, it is not difficult for him/her. Working with students and being in constant communication with them is a development for both teachers and students. A good teacher can not teach and inspire students without being a learner. One of the questions frequently given to teachers is “Don't you get bored” or “Is it not difficult?”. Of course, like any profession, teaching has its challenges. I understand that students actively develop and modify their own knowledge based on earlier learning and experiences. Students are different and they do not learn in the same way and same pace. As a teacher, I feel it is my duty to diagnose students' interests, abilities, and prior knowledge. A good teacher, in my opinion, must also be aware of motivation and t...

Teaching practice - 6 Teaching materials Hello, I will talk about Teaching Materials. It is a fact that the teaching materials used in online lessons and in classroom lessons are different from each other. The teacher can keep the teaching materials the same, but this will not be effective. Online lessons are boring and difficult for children to get used to, if the teacher keeps the materials the same, the students' interest in the lesson may be lost. So, the teacher should be careful. As far as I have observed online and classroom lessons, the teacher uses different materials in online lessons. Because, just like in the classroom, it can be a little impossible and very boring in online classes to teach from a book. In order not to distract the students, the teacher was trying to prepare different activities related to the subject they were working on. During this time, I realized that the selection of teaching materials is very important and the tea...

Teaching practice -5 Student and teacher talk Hello again! Today, I would like to write about teacher and student talk during the lesson. Teacher and student conversation is different from online and classroom lessons. The reason for this is that the students are young and difficult to control. If the teacher allows them to talk to each other uncontrollably, then they can talk additional things from the lesson during this time and this may affect the lesson negatively. That's why the teacher reduces the student-student and student-teacher conversation to less in order to control it during the online lesson. During the lessons in the classroom, I saw that the teacher was more interested in this point. She creates space for students to talk as much as she can.  Student-Student and Teacher- Student interaction is the most important thing in the class, it help to improve their speaking skill. Naila

Teaching Practice-4  Instructions Hello everyone! I will write about the instructions which make the lessons more effective. The instructions which are given by teachers should be clear. As far as I observed, the teacher's instructions were direct and clear. The class I observed was the 4th class. Their English level was quite good and  had no trouble understanding the instruction. Of course some of them have  difficulty to understand. Only in that case, the teacher uses Language 1. It was difficult for me because I do not know Polish. That is why  I was asking for help from the teacher.  The instructions given by the teacher are more difficult to understand in online lessons. The reason for this may be the students' lack of attention, problems with the internet connection.  Considering these, the teacher was trying to give more detailed and visual instructions. She tried to create relaxed environment for children in order to encou...

Teaching practice-3 Classroom management Today I am going to write with you about classroom management, which is difficult for online classrooms but very important for the classroom in general.  During online lessons, it is very difficult for children to sit still, pay attention to the lessons, and be managed by the teacher in front of the screen. Because there are many objects in their room to distract them. Therefore, to supervise them, the teacher always asks the children to keep their cameras on. At the same time, parents should control their children from home frequently.  One of the things I observed in the lessons and liked the most was that the teacher had basic rules. Although the lessons are online, the teacher follows these rules and the children have no difficulty because they know these rules. It was difficult for children to adapt to the online lesson, but the lessons were very good. Naila To sum up, the teacher did great job.

Teaching practice-2  classroom routines  This post will be about online classroom routine. The teacher usually starts classes with a greeting. Since the teacher is a very positive person, it is reflected in this class as well. Classes are usually in the morning. After the teacher greets the students and asks them how they are doing, they sometimes start the lesson with a warm-up activity. This warm-up activity is usually related to the lesson that will be discussed later in the lesson. Lessons last for 90 minutes twice a week. In the first 45 minutes after the warm-up activity, the teacher checks the activities she gives from the last lesson. They talk about the subject they covered in the last lesson and check whether the students have understood the subject. After a 10-minute break, the second half of the lesson starts. In the second half of the lesson, the teacher makes an introduction to the new topic. It could be a game,  an activity or a s...

Teaching Practice - 1 Classroom environment In this post, I would like to share my experience about teaching practice with you. I started my teaching practice in March. To be honest, I wasn't sure how my practice would go  because the classes were online. Because online lessons and classroom lessons are completely different and you can't analyze everything. I was doing my teaching practice in one of the non-public schools in Warsaw and students were 4th grade. There were 15 children in the classroom.  When I started to observe the lessons, the lessons were online and I was paying attention to the bond between the teacher and the students, the environment they lived in, how they managed themselves, their activities in the lesson and also what kind of materials the teacher used in the lesson. I saw that some students could not sit still during the lesson. The teacher was paying attention to everyone in the lesson and was trying to reduce such possible situations b...

P ractical insight into making your video lesson for young learners  Hello again! Today, I will share my reflection on our very last webinar about how to make video lessons. The webinar was conducted by Ms.  MaƂgorzata Gaca.  At the beginning of this webinar, she emphasized that if we want to shoot a good lesson video, we need to prepare a well-planned and appropriate script. If we write and practice what we want to say in the video in advance, it will help us to speak fluently and stay calm. She also mentioned the importance of checking other people's work on social media or other platforms. If you want the video to be of better quality and sequential, it may be a good idea to divide the video into parts.  At the beginning of the video, you should introduce yourself. After that, you can use a small warm-up activity to make the video more interactive and interesting. However, you may change the format of the content such that it is enjo...

Lesson observation grade 0 Hello everybody! This time I would like to share my reflection about Grade 0. I had this opportunity to observe an English class in Kindergarten. The lesson begins with the children singing the song. Generally, I think it was a successful lesson.  The teacher did an excellent job of engaging the students and capturing their attention. This was due to the fact that the instructional materials she utilized were both entertaining and educational. Visual aids: -a book -flashcards -a poster    The instructor then conducts a brief review of the text and asks the students questions in the first language. The questions include animals and their various behaviors, colors, and bodily parts. The book which the teacher used was well chosen, because it was large and had lots of colorful pictures in it. Another thing which I like the most, the teacher did not just read the book and also engaged the students by asking questions. These are my general observatio...

The power of Art and Craft Hello again everyone!  Today I want to write  about webinar, which is about arts and crafts conducted by Katarzyna Biernat. I was very interested in the topic of this webinar. The webinar host started the conversation with us by warming up to explain the importance of arts and crafts in the lesson. Because lesson is an art itself.  Art and craft integration in the classroom provides for aesthetic and emotional expression.  Some importance of arts and crafts was highlighted in this webinar. Art and craft: -improves children's motor skills -creates a suitable environment for children to relax - improves linguistic development -provides perfect introduction to the lesson, etc. During webinar the presenter shared many ideas. I believe these ideas will help me to conduct my les...
